Education

In the early 90's I started my education at GLR Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam (Netherlands) as a graphic designer.

After my education I started working in sales. It was not untill the turn of the millenium where I got the motivation to get back on track to do something I was born to do. My creativity came back with a vengeance and I realised I had a big challange ahead of me. Graphic design was changed with the succes of the internet and I had to make a plan. From that point on all my evenings and weekends were filled learning everything from scratch again and get myself familiarized with webdesign and coding.

Nowadays I'm on a level where I explore my knowledge. It seems the basics I've learned in the early years payed of pretty well...

An allround designer

My first websites were mainly HTML based. The freedom on this platform enabled me to push my creativity and knowledge. Then there was Flash not the normal web based coding language... I began to explore the opportunities and boundries, resulting in solution focused thinking and exploring new technologies and solutions.

From that time I was hooked on webdesign in general. Combining Flash, HTML & javascript expanded my knowledge and boundries. It wasn't untill that time where I finaly began to understand the phrase... "Nothing is impossible"...

Next to webdesign I'm mainly a true graphic designer, photo optimization and a true Adobe Photoshop Guru, Illustrator, Flash, Indesign, and Dreamweaver. Becides that I like to explore with Adobe After Effects, Premiere and 3D Max.

The early years

I was born in the fall of '75 in a small village in the region of Limburg (The Netherlands) and was raised in many different villages and cities in the Netherlands and even Germany.

I began exploring my creativity on a early age and drawing was something that was apparently in my DNA. I never stopped developing my creativity, And therefor in these younger years my fate was drawn.

Next to my creative side I also played a lot with lego and stripped down and demolished just about anything I could get my hands on despite my parents worries, resulting in exploring my technical skills that came in handy later, developing and wrestling tricky source code or manipulting pixels.

Personal life

I currently live in Rotterdam together with my cat Murphy, who is named after a a true Irish, since he is a red(ish) cat. Go figure...

My daily fuel for an optimal day is good music. It's something I wake up- and go to bed with. What would you expect from someone that grew up with the early beginnings of MTV and the rise of grunge music. Well played music gives me the inspiration and persistance in my line of work.

I'm an emotional person but that's the equivalent of being a designer to my opinion. As a designer you need to translate a feeling on paper or screen to capture the customers eye and behold.

I absolutely love a good meal and find myself cooking in the kichen as I do in my line of work, trying to mix flavours as I would do with colours and finding the right structure as I do with form and function...
